Rules are mapping conditions synonymous to  "Transformations" ,intermediary process where logic is applied on the extracted information from the source systems before being written to Targeted systems. 

The below screen shot illustrates the Rule section .

Add New Rule 

A logged in user can create a new rule , by clicking on "Create New Rule" located on the top right section of the page, can be seen from the above screen. Every Rule has two sections one is Target Section, the second being update source section

  1. user has to select the Target system (i.e Connector of DBSync), Select the operation, select the object and set the mapping from the map link.
  2. User can check the update source ,if he wishes the target system to notify source system by selecting the connector, operation, object and set on success map and on failure maps

The section illustrates how field to fields of source and target systems will be mapped for the integration to take place, this is an important step which will help the DBSync to match fields of source and target systems.

The mapping of the source field on to target fields can be applied just by clicking on the fields from the schema. The user can also apply functions from the "Functions" tab so that value can be transformed before being written to target systems.
