DBSync is a J2EE complaint application which can run in any J2EE container like Tomcat, JBoss, WebShere or others as a WAR deployment. By default, installation folder of DBSync On-Premise version comes along with Tomcat.
As DBSync is a Java based application, it can run on any Java supported platforms like windows, linux and unix. It is also supported for both 32bit and 64bit processors by installing the appropriate Java VM and J2EE container.

Java (Windows & Linux) | Java 7 or 8 is required. However, we recommend using Java 8. The version of 1.7.0_79 and 1.8.0_131 are internally tested. |
JDK (Windows & Linux) | The DBSync also requires Oracle JDK other than JRE, See the java documentation to learn about JDK. |
JRE (Windows & Linux) | The DBSync support only the oracle Java run time formerly (known as sun java run time), During installation the installer detects if the machine is having the JRE installed or not and if not found the DBSync installation comes with pre compiled version of JRE that is run during installation. |
To know which version of Java is installed in your machine, open the command prompt and type "java - version" which will return the java installed on your machine, Alternatively you can also open the your root folder, navigate to program files to check if the folder "Java" exist in it or not . If exists then java is installed on your machine and if not you can install from the following link
