  1. In the Donations Object Click on New button



  1. Select Donation in the Record Type of new record and Click on Continue Button


  1. New page gets open and allows you to enter the details for the donations


  1. Enter the person's name who is giving the Donation
  2. Select a organization name from the dropdown list
  3. Enter the amount in the space provided for
  4. Select a type of donation from the dropdown list
  5. Select a Donation Description from the dropdown menu
  6. Select a date
  7. Select a Lead Source from the dropdown menu
  8. Change the Stage to Posted from the dropdown list
  9. Select the appropriate payment type Cash/Check/Credit Card from the dropdown list
  10. Select the appropriate Retreat in the Retreat Related Information from the lookup menu
  11. Select Retreat Staff name from the lookup list
  12. Click on Save


  1. On Clicking Save a new page is opened where you can cross-check the details entered


  1. Check the Name and other details entered are correct
  2. Edit button allows you to change the details entered
  3. Receivable number is created once you save the donation


5. When a Donation is posted, Sales Receipt is created automatically in the Receivables Object. Let us look how Sales Receipt is created.

On clicking the Receivables tab where you find that a Sales Receipt is automatically created.


6. Click on the Doc number, the Receivable gets opened from where you can also get the print of the donation receipt.

  1. Sales Receipt for the donation is been created
  2. To get the print of the Sales Receipt click on PDF button


7. On clicking the PDF button a new page is opened from where you will be able to print the Donation Receipt. To print press on Control+P buttons on your key board, adjust the printer setup and click on the Print button.





When Sales Receipt is automatically created in the Receivable Object, the program also does lot of other things along with it. It creates an Item as a Retreat Staff and that item is programmatically associated with a GL Account of the Retreat in the Donation. Let us check all these parameters now.


8. In the Items Object click on Retreat Volunteer – 01207 in the Product Name

Under the Product Name Retreat Volunteer – 01207, a new product line item is created. Scroll down to Transaction Line Items to see the new item being created.


Let us now check with the GL Account. Click on the GL Account Object

Click on the Fall Retreat Donation under the Chart of Account Name, you will notice that the amount

Click on the 162 in the Book entry Name to cross check the entry

This covers creating an Item as a Retreat Staff and GL Account of the Retreat in the Donation, and Donation is automatically created as Sales Receipt in the Receivable Object.
