Why export a PDL file?

At times you may want to export a PDL file to save it to an external drive. In case you need to export a PDL file, the directions for doing so are as follows:

1. Assuming that you already have a PDL file in DBSync (if you do not have a PDL file in DBSync, see ?2.4.2 - Creating Process Definitions to learn how to create one), to export the process definition as a backup, right click on the Profile name under “Navigation” and select the “download” option as shown in the screen shots below:

2. A dialog box appears prompting you to open or save the file in the required destination:

3. Any downloaded/exported process definition zip file can be imported back to get the settings and mappings in the backup file.
